Iron Lady
Directed by U Arte 'House
Review by Eric Stashak
By stripping Iron Lady to minimal elements of fur, lace, and iron, Boon Liew forces the viewer to look closer at the emotional spectrum produced by such simplicity. The viewer is taken on a journey through different temperaments: anticipation, fear, contentment, and even a bit of ecstasy. The coolness and solidity of the iron is balanced against the soft and delicate beauty of the fur and lace. The airplane is a fitting image for both pieces, resonating with the thoughts of both power and grace. However, the lynchpin of the film combines beauty and steel into a moving entity, upon which the film centers.
