Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Pamella Roland Spring/Summer 2013 Collection
Pamella's fashion career is not your average fashion designer story. As a teen, she wanted to study fashion, but her father encouraged her to pursue a business degree. And she did. While doing so, she studied art history through college and continued to apply her passion for the arts to her professional endeavors. After obtaining her business degree, Pamella worked in corporate and agency environments, in public relations, and also in investments and philanthropy in the next years of her life. Finally in 2002, Pamella launched her design line. Eight years later, she was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Fast forward to 2012, we can see a variety of shapes and sizes (of lines) grace the Spring/Summer 2013 line of Pamella Roland. Sticking to colors black, white, and canary yellow, Roland’s dresses and tops create slender silhouettes with geometric lines and color blocking. Her inspiration for this year is the iconic American designer Ellsworth Kelly, known for sleek, simple lines.
