Known for her updated takes on traditional pieces as well as painstaking embroidery; Yulia Yanina, Russian fashion designer, impressed spectators on July 3 at the Russian Embassy in Paris. Yanina’s collection brought together elements such as jewel and earth tones, gauzy tulle bodices and opaque skirts, and bold-patterned cut-outs next to delicate embroidery. The silhouettes in this collection ranged from sleek and tailored, with high collars and high-waisted, mid-calf pencil skirts; to whimsical and fantastic, with beautifully ornamented bodices and gossamer layers of tulle.
